Prepare the Frame Remove any old spline and torn or damaged screen from the frame. Clean out the frame channel completely to eliminate debris and create a smooth surface for the new screen. Position the New Screen Lay the frame on a flat, stable surface. Place the new screen mesh over the frame, leaving 1–2 inches of excess material around all edges. Pre-Secure the Mesh Choose the side of the Splyn Key™ that best fits the inside of the frame channel. Lightly press the mesh into the groove with the Splyn Key™ to hold it in place and prevent shifting while installing the spline. Install the Spline Position the new spline over the frame channel. Grip the Splyn Key™ handle firmly between your thumb and fingers. Press the spline into the channel while keeping the tool upright. Rock the tool back and forth while applying downward pressure to fully seat the spline. Apply your body weight for even pressure, and switch tool ends to navigate corners and tight spots easily. Trim Excess Mesh Use a utility knife to carefully trim away extra mesh. Angle the blade outward to prevent cutting or damaging the spline. Inspect and Adjust Ensure the mesh is taut, smooth, and fully seated in the channel. Reapply the rocking motion on any loose spots to achieve a snug fit.
